When it comes to ice cream lovers, there are two categories of people: the scavengers and the rest. The scavengers are the ones that spend their time picking and scooping out chunks of chocolate, cookie dough, and whatever other goodies are hiding in the ice cream. Although we support our fellow scavengers, we can’t but feel annoyed when we open the pint and discover all the holes they’ve made in the ice cream.
Ice cream scavengers are usually very picky when it comes to chocolate cookie dough ice cream because they know that dough is more important than the vanilla ice cream surrounding it.
Ben and Jerry’s has recently released a new ice cream creation which is predicted to make these scavengers go wild and, most importantly, keep them away from our ice cream pints. No longer will they have to struggle to pick out the chunks because Ben & Jerry’s just released an awesome new product called “Cookie Dough Chunks,” which essentially is packaged cookie dough.
These sweet chunky snacks are currently available in two different flavors: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Peanut Butter Dough. They come in 1/2 bags that hold eight servings of the same cookie dough you find in Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. The mixture contains pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour and can be sprinkled on an ice cream sundae or just eaten plain.
However, before you get too excited, we must remind you that for now, this genius snack is only available in Vermont, where Ben & Jerry’s is testing the Cookie Dough Chunks at Scoop Shops. Rumor tells us that if the test run goes well, B&J will consider expanding the line to more Scoop Shops around the US and possibly even on e-commerce, closer to the holidays.
Don’t lose hope cookie dough chunk lovers, we’re sure it won’t be long before all of the USA has this snack stored in their kitchen pantry.
