The Purpose of the Campaign

Highlighting Black Heritage Sites

The “Equal Rights Heritage” campaign shines a spotlight on a wide range of Black heritage sites and landmarks throughout New York State. These include historic sites, museums, cultural centers, and landmarks that celebrate the contributions of Black Americans to the state’s history and culture. From the Underground Railroad to the Harlem Renaissance, these sites offer visitors a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of Black Americans throughout history.

Encouraging Diversity and Inclusion in Tourism
