Most of us don’t think we’ll ever meet a celebrity in our lives and have come to accept that the screen is usually as close as we’ll get to them. These days, it’s also equally accepted among most celebrities that fans are fans and that they stay on the opposite side of the railings unless they’re doing a charity outreach or simply being nice.

So we totally don’t expect it when a celebrity makes an unannounced public appearance for no real reason – especially when it’s in a place like an In ‘N Out! But this Monday, a bunch of customers were surprised to find a hungry and cheerful Tom Hanks waiting in line with them!

As you can imagine, people calmly freaked out. One minute you’re standing there just trying to get something to eat, and then all of a sudden, Tom Hanks is smiling right behind you! As people took photos of him, Hanks (otherwise known as ‘America’s Dad’), calmly waited in line before announcing that he was going to pay for everyone’s meals.

The customers were literally jumping for joy when they heard the news. As if your day couldn’t get any better! First Tom Hanks walks into the same restaurant as you – then he proceeds to buy you your lunch. How crazy is that?

Then, rather than simply getting his meal and leaving like everyone expected him to, he calmly asked one of the patrons whether he could have a seat with them. After accepting, Hanks sat with a young couple and proceeded to listen to their stories and share jokes with them as he finished his lunch. After finishing up, he quietly stood up, thanked the couple for their time (who had to keep closing their jaws so as not to seem rude) and calmly left the restaurant.

He greeted a few more people on his way out and then drove off. What may have just been another quick lunch for the restaurant, probably went on to change the lives of everyone in that restaurant for good. That’s why we love you, Tom Hanks!

Parks are great places to relax, socialize and in many cases, to express yourself. However, things can go too far in these green, spacious areas. Here are some of craziest things people (and their pets) have done at parks.

Parks attract some of the most bizarre people, animals and everything in between. It makes sense that human beings would use parks as a platform to demonstrate their most animalistic qualities. Take this guy for example, who was born with the head of a unicorn and has developed a reputation for being one of the most talented accordion players in the whole of New York. Ladies and gentleman, introducing…The Unicordion! Also, he wears women’s shoes. Not weird at all.

Anyone who has been through a nasty breakup wants to do everything in there power to forget about their past love. Throw all those love letters and photos in the trash and delete all of the messages and their phone number. However, in the digital age we live in, there are some photos we don’t want to get rid of, like this one of the former couple posing in a park. With a little bit of photoshopping, this young lady was a tree hugger in no time.

Don’t you just wish you could roll back the years and be one of the Knights of the Round Table? What we would give to cover ourselves with some chain mail, wear a helmet and ride a horse into battle. If only that was still socially acceptable. Well, some people don’t have any inhibitions when it comes to “time-traveling.” Take this guy, for example. No one can tell him otherwise. He is the modern day “Prince Charming.”

Where’s the fun in having a picnic on a park bench if you can’t stack all of them and create a pyramid of park benches? That sounds like a hoot! There’s only one chink in their foolproof plan. What about all the other park-goers? Sure, you can have a picnic on the grass if you bring a picnic blanket, but what if you want to use one of the benches? Thankfully for these guys, there was no one else at the park that day.

Let’s face it – the park is the perfect place to take your loved one for a romantic picnic and an ideal backdrop for a few hours of peace and quiet. So when these two lovebirds thought they’d have a chance to relax and enjoy each other’s company with their dog, they were in for something of a rude awakening. Lo and behold, a group of Vikings came to strike them down.

Who said that pets can’t enjoy themselves the way that humans can? As proven by this photo, cats can have an amazing time. This guy tried his luck when he placed his kitty on one of the swings at the local park. The cat was naturally a little worried during the first few pushes. However, after a minute on the swing, she held on tight and had the time of her life. He struggled to get her off the swing!

It’s funny how looks can be so deceiving in a perfectly-timed photo. Of course, this could easily happen at a park. Take this image, for example, which saw a young lady posing on a hot summer day in front of a fountain with members of the public passing by. However, if you look to the side, you can see a topless man walking past and the water from the fountain makes it look like he’s wearing a wedding dress!

Well, we’ll let you decide on that one. There have been so many hilarious photobombs to surface online. However, seeing that this one happened in the park, we couldn’t help but include it on this list! Imagine taking this photo and seeing it for the first time. We can’t imagine how the couple must’ve reacted when seeing that dog leap over them like that. We can imagine the pooch barking something along the lines of “wait! Wait for me!”

We are ashamed to say this, but we’ll be honest with you: it took as a good few minutes to work out what was wrong with this photo. Parks are supposed to be simple, straightforward places. What you see is what you get. Right? Well, it turns out that there’s one park with benches that have invisible seats. These three friends look very smug as they wait for passersby to come to a realization about this optical illusion.

In the United States of America, people should feel free to say whatever they want and express themselves the way they see fit. This includes the way that one dresses. So when this man took his grandson to the Grand Canyon, he did not think twice about the way that he dressed during the hot expedition. However, as soon as the photo reached the internet, this photo generated a lot more laughs than it had originally intended.

A park-goer was busy in Central Park doing some bird watching when he stumbled across his greatest discovery yet – the actual Big Bird from Sesame Street. Star-struck by the huge canary muppet, the guy went over to Big Bird to get an autograph and a selfie. However, Big Bird reacted violently and scared the bird-watcher away. It turns out that he is not as friendly in real life as he is on the classic children’s show.

Now we can safely say that we’ve seen it all. Seeing that we can’t see the animal’s face, we’re not sure if it’s a dog or a sheep. Maybe it’s something else entirely. Whatever the case may be, we’re pretty sure that it’s probably illegal in certain states to make an animal wear roller skates and roll them across the street on the way to the park. Maybe it’s legal in this state. Hey, it’s a brave new world.

Parks are generally designed to cater to the masses. Everyone should be able to walk through a park and feel like they are welcome there. However, there was one guy who saw the name of a park in Vancouver and immediately knew that this was his favorite place. As he rested his arm on the sign and wore his leather jacket and shades with style, it was a match made in dude heaven.

Believe it or not, but animals also know how to adhere to certain rules if they are presented in the right way. If you put a sign in front of a grass field of a dog surrounded by a red circle and a line going through it, that sign can be interpreted in a number of ways. For a start, the universal interpretation is that it means no dogs allowed. At least, this is how the cat interpreted it.

Ever thought to yourself, “what if we were the ants of our world, and there are giant beings who are much big than us? What if they could crush us in an instant?” Well, one man had this feeling when he was at the park one day with his dog. After stumbling across a giant peg, somehow, some way, he got his leg caught in it. His dog simply sat there and let him suffer.

You know when they made that classic movie The Odd Couple, starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau? Well, rumor has it that the original script was about a fully-grown man who traveled everywhere on roller skates and took his pony to the park.

The park truly attracts all kinds of strange, exotic individuals. However, when a photographer noticed that a Xenomorph and a Predator were hanging around together and playing on a pair of swings, he couldn’t help but snap away and share it with the world. It turns out that the entire Alien and Predator film franchises were actually a series of documentaries. Moreover, we think we might know what the sequel to Alien Vs. Predator might be. How about Alien Vs. Predator – Playdate?

There’s nothing worse than getting mixed signals, in any corner of life. So when you are going about your everyday life, walking around and being a law-abiding citizen, you expect signs to have clear instructions that don’t contradict themselves. When this person stumbled across one of the most perplexing signs they had ever seen, they couldn’t help but take a photo of it and share it with the world. But he really wanted to fly a kite!!

Ideally, you should give your dog a reasonable amount of time (and distance) to walk outside and do its business. However, it appears that there’s one park that isn’t so dog-friendly. In fact, it only lends a tiny piece of grass for dog owners to bring their beloved hounds and do all things dog-related. You see the first sign and it’s all systems go! Then, you see the green sign literally a yard away from it. Tragic.

On the one hand, this young lady might be genuinely screaming for help as she hangs onto the cliff for dear life. If she loses balance, she will surely fall to her doom. On the other hand, maybe she’s completely in control and making the viewer assume that she’s in a life-threatening situation, purely as a part of some sort of sick joke. There is a 50/50 chance of which scenario it might be. We will simply never know…

In some countries, standing in line is a cultural norm that most people subscribe to. In others though, people don’t understand the concept of standing in line and simply go for the same thing in a chaotic free-for-all. However, it appears that there’s a part of the world where dogs have caught up with humans in this respect. Not only does each dog wait patiently for their turn, but they also stand in an orderly line while doing it!

In this part of the world, there is an actual slide that makes it look like users are sliding out of the back of an elephant! When the city council built the monstrosity and put a dozen of them up around the city, many families were enraged. They thought it was inappropriate and for a while, refused to take their kids to the park. However, as time went on, kids saw the funny side of it, and so did the parents.

Not everyone gets to brag about being best friends with one of the largest people on the planet. These two friends from Russia didn’t need to book a long haul flight to America in order to visit the Grand Canyon. The one guy simply hopped on the other’s shoulders as he walked across the Atlantic ocean, jogged through the country and arrived at the Canyon within a couple of hours. Then they took this photo.

The man in this photo has been wondering for years, “why can’t I find the woman of my dreams? Is there something wrong with me?” Well, for a start, he sleeps way too often. As he took a trip to the park and took a nap in the summer sun, little did he know that the actual woman of his dreams walked right past him. Heck, she even stood behind him and took some time to do some stretches.

When did a duck ever need help to travel across a body of water? Everyone knows that ducks are able to swim in water, walk on land and fly in the sky. They’re pretty cool like that. However, every photo has context, and this one’s no different. This duck was suffering from a serious injury and the fish was kind enough to help him from one side of the pond to the other. Our hearts are about to melt!

After reading this sign and understanding the point that the person was trying to make, there’s only one question running through our minds: did this actually happen? We have no reason to assume that it didn’t. Could it be that dog actually got up on two feet, picked up a pair of gardening tools and cleaned up his own “stuff?” That is one classy dog! Of course, there’s also chance that some photoshopping was involved…

Ever wished you could just have your own space at the park and not have everyone else cramp your style? Well, some genius came up with an “interesting” idea, for lack of a better term. Ladies and gentleman, introducing – the Trailer Park. Simply hook it up to your car, drive to whatever destination you choose, park your car and voila, you have your very own miniature park. Warning – walking the dog could prove to be problematic.

It might be a stereotype that Americans make everything bigger. However, there are some parks in the United States that actually seem to be designed for people of gargantuan proportions. So when these three friends turned up at Humungous Mammoth Park on a Spring day, they couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw the size of the benches. It took them 10 minutes just to get onto the colossal seats! By the time they sat down, they were so exhausted.

It’s funny how words can be so open to interpretation. When you are sending a request via an e-mail, you better make sure that every word counts and is spelled correctly. Otherwise, the recipient of that message might do something very different to what you had hoped for. Take this woman, for example. We have a feeling that she wanted to look “great” so that she could beat the other woman to the man of her dreams. She wanted to look “great,” not “grate.”

Unfortunately, so many people and animals go missing in parks. These large bodies of land and trees mean that it is very easy for living beings to be misplaced. As a result, we see missing posters planted in parks way too often. However, is something really missing if you never saw it, to begin with? To say that we’re skeptical as to whether or not this person actually saw a unicorn in Central Park is quite the understatement.

We’d like to say that this weird looking bench was a good idea on the park’s behalf. Imagine. You’re running through the park and instead of sitting down, you want to have a five-minute nap without falling off the bench. This is where this Bench Bed comes into play. Basically, two bench backs are put together to create something completely new. However, something tells us that it was actually a mistake and the city council was too lazy to remove it.

We’ve heard of mixed messages before, but this takes the concept to a whole level. Imagine getting your dog all excited for a run, running two steps, and then breaking the news to the poor pup that the run is over. We find the whole thing a little heartbreaking. We can’t help but wonder which sign was unfortunately misplaced, but we do have our fingers crossed that they accidentally put the “no dogs past here” sign at the wrong park.

This guy knew he was accidentally photobombing an unforgettable moment for this couple. He looks mortified, which is what makes this photo all the more hilarious. As he tried dodging this proposal, he got caught right in the middle of the once in a lifetime moment. We’re actually kind of happy for this couple, they have an extra special something to make their day a little more unique. What if this guy was the guy that ended up officiating this wedding. We’re not crying. You’re crying.

…And The Oscar for best everything goes to these two kids who are winning at life. We don’t know why or how we didn’t think of this ourselves, but photobombing an amusement park photo is mindblowing. Their facial expressions are priceless, looking straight into the camera as if to say “we own this.” And well, they do. We have so many questions, how is that one chess piece sitting right in place, who came up with this idea, how did they perfectly time it? We need answers!

There is an important rule that all parks must abide by: hang up signs that display clear instructions for people to follow. For most people, reading the following sign would seem like a formality. It is commonly understood that you pick up after your dog does their business, whether it be in the park or on the sidewalk. However, this guy seemed to read a bit too deep into the instruction and felt compelled to do this.

Ideally, parks should be a place where people can be as active or as relaxed as they want. You can ride a bike, run a marathon or play volleyball. These are just some of the activities you could do in at the park. On the flipside, you could do more relaxed things like having a picnic, reading a book, or even getting so inebriated that you end up cuddling up together while napping on a park bench.

Let’s face it, see-saws at parks are either for kids or for two people who are the same weight. If one user is much heavier than the other, then, unfortunately, this sort of thing will happen. These two friends were wandering around the local park and decided to bring out their inner-children. They got on the seesaw and were having a great time. That was until one catapulted the other into the air. It took them hours to get out of that tree.

While we can’t confirm whether or not this is the actual Grand Canyon, it certainly looks like it could be. At the very least, it’s a big cavernous nature reserve. Therefore, we guess it qualifies as a park, in the larger sense of the word. At any rate, this guy certainly treated it like a walk in the park, especially because he had his adorable poodle by his side the entire time. One thing’s for sure: that is one death-defying hound.

Coming to this park also means you get free parking, what a win. Or is it? We admit math isn’t our strongest subject, but this is considered the most basic adding. We don’t think it gets much easier than this. We understand the need to put signs in parking spots so that people understand there are rules they need to follow – we’re just not sure people visiting this park are going to comprehend what they are supposed to do here.
