It’s not always easy to approach your crush and ask them out on a date. This viral trend is encouraging women to not only ask their crushes out for Valentine’s Day, but to also post their replies in the ‘Comments’ section! Watch as hilarity ensues while some women get the date and others don’t get as lucky.

The Valentine’s Day Challenge

London-based author and podcaster Oloni posted on Twitter challenging women to admit to their crush that they like them and ask them out on a Valentine’s Day date.

Empowered to take control of their own love lives and make the first move, many women accepted the challenge and began texting their crushes. The results were varied, to say the least. Some were heartwarming, others were hilarious, and a few were just downright cringeworthy.

Nope Don’t Do That

This answer is too brutal for words. How does a person even respond to this kind of rejection? It’s straight to the point and leaves no room for questions. This poor woman just wanted a date, man!

I think we all felt the burn of that, “Nope don’t do that,” reply to her Valentine’s Date offer. It is going to require a tub of ice cream and rom-coms all night long to soothe this rejection.

Cloud Nine

This woman seemed to catch her crush off guard with her proposition, but that didn’t stop her from shooting her shot. Women – 1. Men – 0. By her Bitmoji selection, we can assume she’s very excited about this!

While the woman later admitted she was terrified, I think it will all work out for the best! Everyone gets nervous on first dates. Don’t sweat it and be yourself cause chances are he’s a bit nervous, too.

Straight Shooter

While some people may think choosing a more subtle and sweet approach is the right choice for this Valentine’s Day Challenge, others are choosing a more… direct approach. Would you guys ever be this direct when asking out your crush?

To be honest — this one leaves us with more questions than answers. We want a follow-up! Was the woman who sent the text Sandra? Did she ever get her date? We may never know.
